Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) Regulations

Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) regulations are an environmental policy approach that makes producers responsible for the full lifecycle of their products. This includes everything from design to post-consumer waste. The EPR regulations aim to reduce waste, promote recycling, and drive a circular economy within the waste sector. The regulations hold the producers, manufacturers, brand owners and importers accountable for the end-of-life-cycle of their product, therefore advocating for industries to produce recyclable products. It also holds the industry accountable to support recovery systems that exist in Municipalities, and fund waste management initiatives aimed at diverting waste from landfill, therefore driving the country towards a waste circular economy.
